ENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.A synergistic molecular strategy is demonstrated to disrupt intrinsic ππ stacking in pitch, boosting 6‐fold sulfonation, yielding a hard carbon with 0.371 nm interlayer spacing and maximized closed pores, and achieving a high reversible capacity, remarkable rate capability (205.6 mAh g−1 at 2 A g−1) and cyclic stability.

Carbon Nanopatch‐Decorated Defect‐Rich Regions for Stable Zinc Metal Anodes
ENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.To improve the stability of Zn anodes, a carbon‐nanopatch strategy based on candle‐flame pyrolysis is proposed. After rinsing, carbon nanoparticles are mainly retained in defect‐rich regions on the Zn surface, where they help alleviate local field intensification, improve interfacial uniformity, and mitigate parasitic reactions.

European Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.Clar's empiric rule implies that the most contributing resonance formula is that with the maximum number of fully intact benzene rings.
