Automated MRI Segmentation of Brainstem Nuclei Critical to Consciousness

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 14, 01 October 2025.
To advance coma and consciousness research, we developed a method for segmenting brainstem ascending arousal network nuclei from MRI scans. We validated automated segmentations of these nuclei in normative brain scans from multiple MRI modalities, as well as in patients with Alzheimer's disease and traumatic brain injury.

The Management of Head and Neck Lymphoedema: A 2025 Systematic Review

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 47, Issue 10, Page 2897-2910, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Head and Neck Lymphoedema (HNL) is debilitating to many domains of patients' structure and function, yet it is the most poorly researched form of lymphoedema. This is due to the variety of signs and symptoms experienced by HNL patients, and this makes it difficult to formulate standardized staging classifications and treatment ...

A Case of Miller−Fisher Overlap Syndrome With Positive Anti‐GM4 Antibody and Atypical Symptoms

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Miller−Fisher syndrome (MFS) is a recognized clinical variant of Guillain−Barré syndrome (GBS), characterized by the classic triad of ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and areflexia. Uneasy (Intractable) Head and Neck Defect Coverage With Easy and Reliable Local Flap Techniques: A Retrospective Case‐Based Study of Perforator‐Plus Peninsular Flap and Modified Keystone Flap

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 10, Issue 5, October 2025.
This retrospective case series evaluated the use of perforator‐plus peninsular flaps (PPPF) and modified keystone flaps (MKF) in 10 patients with head and neck defects classified as “uneasy” under a descriptive framework. All flaps survived without complications, and scar outcomes were assessed using the Patient and Observer Scar Assessment Scale ...

Proteolysis‐Targeting Chimera (PROTAC): Current Applications and Future Directions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
PROTACs are reshaping drug discovery through targeted protein degradation. Clinical programs now extend to prostate, breast, lung, hematologic, and solid tumors, with key targets including AR, ER, BTK, STAT3, Bcl‐xL, BRD9, Kras, and so on. These degraders overcome resistance, broaden therapeutic scope, and provide solutions for “undruggable” proteins ...
