This paper describes a Chinese painting robot (CP robot) that can be categorized as an art robot. The whole system consists of a robot arm, robot hand, Chinese brush, and system controller. In Chinese painting, the following four objects: bamboos, plum blossoms, chrysanthemums, and orchids are often used to practice painting techniques.

Finger Painting a Projective Technique

Finger painting was used in a diversified program with two different groups of patients, primarily as a medium for expression of feeling that facilitated the collection of diagnostic data and the detection of change in mental status. It was found to be an economical method of eliciting data and monitoring change during therapy.

Chromosome ?painting? in plants ? a feasible technique?

It is shown that chromosome painting is as yet not possible for plants with very complex genomes, neither intra- nor interspecific. The reasons are inefficient blocking of dispersed repetitive sequences and insufficient signal intensity of short unique sequences. Future perspective are indicated.
