The protonated form of butyrate, as well as other short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs), is membrane permeable. In acidic extracellular environments, this can lead to intracellular accumulation of SCFAs and cytosolic acidification. This phenomenon will be particularly relevant in acidic environments such as the large intestine or tumor microenvironments ...

Polarized double-virtual amplitudes for heavy-quark pair production
We present the two-loop virtual amplitudes for heavy-quark pair production in light quark-antiquark annihilation and gluon fusion channels, including full spin and color dependence. We use expansions around kinematical limits and numerical integration to

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Single top and top pair production [PDF]
I present results for single-top and top-pair production at the LHC and the Tevatron. Higher-order two-loop corrections are used to achieve NNLL resummation, which is then used to derive NNLO soft-gluon corrections.

Top pair production at NNLO [PDF]
We report on progress towards calculating the NNLO cross section for top quark pair production in the the framework which combines the $q_T$-slicing method and small-$q_T$ factorization. In this contribution, we present the complete result for the small-$q_T$ soft function at NNLO, which constitutes the main challenge on the way to our goal.

The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

We have calculated the full one-loop electroweak (EW) and QCD corrections to the third generation scalar-fermion pair production processes $e^+e^- \to \gamma \gamma \to \tilde{f_i}\bar{\tilde{f_i}} (f=t,b,\tau)$ at an electron-positron linear collider(LC)

Compton Scattering, Pair Annihilation, and Pair Production in a Plasma [PDF]
The square of the four-momentum of a photon in vacuum is zero. However, in an unmagnetized plasma, it is equal to the square of the plasma frequency. Further, the electron-photon coupling vertex is modified in a plasma to include the effect of the plasma medium.

Brucella NyxA and NyxB dimerization enhances effector function during infection
Brucella abortus thrives inside cells thanks to the translocation of effector proteins that fine‐tune cellular functions. NyxA and NyxB are two effectors that destabilize the nucleolar localization of their host target, SENP3. We show that the Nyx proteins directly interact with each other and that their dimerization is essential for their function ...
