Pair production tomography imaging
Abstract X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) is an exceptionally versatile tool for diagnosis and detection. Despite numerous technological evolutions, the underlying mechanism for CT image formation has not changed. To markedly expand beyond the current capacity of X-ray CT based on a new image formation mechanism, we introduce pair production ...

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Geometric Origin of Pair Production by Electric Field in de Sitter Space [PDF]
The particle production in a de Sitter space provides an interesting model to understand the curvature effect on Schwinger pair production by a constant electric field or Schwinger mechanism on the de Sitter radiation.

Schwinger pair production with ultracold atoms
We consider a system of ultracold atoms in an optical lattice as a quantum simulator for electron–positron pair production in quantum electrodynamics (QED).

Z boson pair-production at LEP
Events stemming from the pair-production of Z bosons in e^+e^- collisions are studied using 217.4 pb^-1 of data collected with the L3 detector at centre-of-mass energies from 200 GeV up to 209 GeV. The special case of events with b quarks is also investigated.

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

We have calculated the full one-loop electroweak (EW) and QCD corrections to the third generation scalar-fermion pair production processes $e^+e^- \to \gamma \gamma \to \tilde{f_i}\bar{\tilde{f_i}} (f=t,b,\tau)$ at an electron-positron linear collider(LC)

CP-odd Phases in Slepton Pair Production [PDF]
The effects of CP-odd supersymmetric phases on slepton pair production are considered. It is shown that CP-even observables in $e^+ e^-$ and $e^- e^-$ collisions, such as the total selectron cross section, can depend on CP-odd supersymmetric phases ...

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
