Symmetry restoration in the mean-field description of proton-neutron pairing

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
We show that the symmetry-restored paired mean-field states (quasiparticle vacua) properly account for isoscalar versus isovector nuclear pairing properties. Full particle-number, spin, and isospin symmetries are restored in a simple SO(8) proton-neutron

Proximity-induced unconventional superconductivity in topological insulators

open access: yes, 2013
We study and classify the proximity-induced superconducting pairing in a topological insulator (TI)-superconductor (SC) hybrid structure for SCs with different symmetries.

ACCR pairs

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Algebra, 1992
All rings are commutative with identity. An \(R\)-module \(M\) is said to satisfy accr if, for every submodule \(N\) of \(M\) and every finitely generated ideal \(I\) of \(R\), the ascending chain \[ {(N:I)\subseteq(N:I^ 2)\subseteq(N:I^ 3)\subseteq\dots} \] terminates. Rings and modules satisfying this condition have been studied by \textit{C.-P. Lu} [

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Exact solution of spherical mean-field plus special orbit-dependent non-separable pairing model with multi non-degenerate j-orbits

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
Exact solution of spherical mean-field plus a special orbit-dependent non-separable pairing Hamiltonian with multi non-degenerate j-orbits, which is related to two previously known hyperbolic Gaudin models, is explored.

Disorder Effects in Superconductors with Anisotropic Pairing: From Cooper Pairs to Compact Bosons

open access: yes, 1996
In the weak coupling BCS-approximation normal impurities do not influence superconducting T_{c} in significant manner in case of isotropic s-wave pairing. However, in case of d-wave pairing these are strongly pair-breaking.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Identification of genes that promote or antagonize somatic homolog pairing using a high-throughput FISH-based screen.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2012
The pairing of homologous chromosomes is a fundamental feature of the meiotic cell. In addition, a number of species exhibit homolog pairing in nonmeiotic, somatic cells as well, with evidence for its impact on both gene regulation and double-strand ...

Nucleation of superconducting pairing states at mesoscopic scales at zero temperature

open access: yes, 1998
We find the spin polarized disordered Fermi liquids are unstable to the nucleation of superconducting pairing states at mesoscopic scales even when magnetic fields which polarize the spins are substantially higher than the critical one.
