Nuclear Pairing: Surface or Bulk ? [PDF]
We analyse how the spatial localisation properties of pairing correlations are changing in a major neutron shell of heavy nuclei. It is shown that the radial distribution of the pairing density depends strongly on whether the chemical potential is close ...

Pairing interactions and the vanishing pairing correlations in hot nuclei
Finite temperature Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations are performed in Sn isotopes using Skyrme and zero-range, density-dependent pairing interactions.

Coherent vs incoherent pairing in 2D systems near magnetic instability
We study the superconductivity in 2D fermionic systems near antiferromagnetic instability, assuming that the pairing is mediated by spin fluctuations. This pairing involves fully incoherent fermions and diffusive spin excitations.

Related to the classical Steffensen inequality, the Steffensen pairs were defined by \textit{H. Gauchman} [J. Inequal. Appl. 5, 53-61 (2000; Zbl 0952.26012)]. In this paper some known Steffensen pairs are listed; then, by using induction and properties of the generalized weighted means, the authors give a general method for constructing such pairs.

Identity-Based Linkable Ring Signature Scheme
A ring signature is an anonymous signature that implements both the authentication of the message and the anonymity of the signer. In a “normal” ring signature scheme, the same signer can generate multiple ring signatures, but the verifier ...

The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...

Germline progenitors escape the widespread phenomenon of homolog pairing during Drosophila development. [PDF]
Homolog pairing, which plays a critical role in meiosis, poses a potential risk if it occurs in inappropriate tissues or between nonallelic sites, as it can lead to changes in gene expression, chromosome entanglements, and loss-of-heterozygosity due to ...

Quantum-critical superconductivity in underdoped cuprates
We argue that the pseudogap phase may be an attribute of the non-BCS pairing of quantum-critical, diffusive fermions near the antiferromagnetic quantum critical point. We derive and solve a set of three coupled Eliashberg-type equations for spin-mediated
