Emotion Prediction Oriented method with Multiple Supervisions for Emotion-Cause Pair Extraction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Emotion-cause pair extraction (ECPE) task aims to extract all the pairs of emotions and their causes from an unannotated emotion text. The previous works usually extract the emotion-cause pairs from two perspectives of emotion and cause. However, emotion extraction is more crucial to the ECPE task than cause extraction.

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Pairings for cryptographers

open access: yesDiscrete Applied Mathematics, 2008
AbstractMany research papers in pairing-based cryptography treat pairings as a “black box”. These papers build cryptographic schemes making use of various properties of pairings. If this approach is taken, then it is easy for authors to make invalid assumptions concerning the properties of pairings.

Social Housing of Previously Single-Caged Adult Male Cynomolgus Macaques (Macaca fascicularis)

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences
Cynomolgus macaques (Macaca fascicularis; Mf) serve an essential role in the advancement of biomedical research. Aged macaques, in particular, are highly valued as animal models for the study of geriatric diseases.

MDS Symbol-Pair Codes from Repeated-Root Cyclic Codes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Symbol-pair codes are proposed to combat pair-errors in symbol-pair read channels. The minimum symbol-pair distance is of significance in determining the error-correcting capability of a symbol-pair code. Maximum distance separable (MDS) symbol-pair codes are optimal in the sense that such codes can achieve the Singleton bound.

Asymmetric ion-pairing catalysis.

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, 2013
Charged intermediates and reagents are ubiquitous in organic transformations. The interaction of these ionic species with chiral neutral, anionic, or cationic small molecules has emerged as a powerful strategy for catalytic, enantioselective synthesis ...

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Disorder Effects in Superconductors with Anisotropic Pairing: From Cooper Pairs to Compact Bosons [PDF]

open access: yesJETP Lett. 65 (1997) 270, 1996
In the weak coupling BCS-approximation normal impurities do not influence superconducting T_{c} in significant manner in case of isotropic s-wave pairing. However, in case of d-wave pairing these are strongly pair-breaking. This fact is in rather strong contradiction with many experiments on disordered high-T_{c} superconductors assuming the d-wave ...

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...
