Exact pairwise error probability of space-time codes

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2002
Summary: We describe a simple technique for the numerical calculation, within any desired degree of accuracy, of the pairwise error probability (PEP) of space-time codes over fading channels. This method applies also to the calculation of \(E[\mathbb Q(\sqrt{\xi})]\) for any nonnegative random variable \(\xi\) whose moment-generating function \(\phi\xi(

Hierarchical Pairwise Error Probability for Hierarchical Decode and Forward Strategy in PLNC

IEEE Communications Letters, 2016
Pairwise error probability (PEP) is an essential tool allowing to design practical optimized coding schemes. It reveals the connection between the performance and the decoding metric that is directly related to the codeword and/or constellation properties.

New tight bounds on the pairwise error probability for unitary space-time modulations

IEEE Communications Letters, 2005
We present two upper bounds and one lower bound on the pairwise error probability (PEP) of unitary space-time modulation (USTM) over the Rayleigh fading channel. The two new upper bounds are the tightest so far, and the new lower bound is the tightest at low signal-to-noise ratio. Some implications for USTM constellation design are also pointed out.

Efficient expression and bound for pairwise error probability in Rayleigh fading channels, with application to union bounds for turbo codes

IEEE Communications Letters, 2005
This work provides a new exact expression for the pairwise error probability under perfect channel state information. Using this expression, the average union upper bounds for (1,7/5,7/5) and (1,5/7,5/7) turbo coding schemes are presented based on transfer function approach assuming fully interleaved Rayleigh fading channels.

Spatial Interference Cancellation and Pairwise Error Probability Analysis

2009 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2009
Future wireless communication systems being characterized by tight frequency reuse, adaptive modulation and coding schemes and diversified data services will be interference limited by interfering signals of diverse rates and strengths. Keeping in view such a scenario, we propose in this paper the application of a recently proposed low complexity match
