Polarised light responses in the shrimp Palaemonetes vulgaris (Say)

Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, 1991
Abstract The shrimp Palaemonetes vulgaris responds to plane polarised light by orientating parallel to the e vector. This response was demonstrated using a new tethering technique in which shrimp are held in a fixed position but are free to rotate in the horizontal plane. The results are shown to agree closely with those obtained by other authors
