Surgical management of an odontogenic collision tumour and oronasal fistula in a 14‐year‐old Warmblood mare

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, Volume 38, Issue 10, Page e706-e713, October 2026.
Summary Tumours of the equine nasal passages and paranasal sinuses are uncommon, and collision tumours, two independent neoplasms arising adjacently, are exceptionally rare. Cementomas and osteolipomas are both benign, slow‐growing tumour types, but are only sparsely described in horses.

A perspective from the Mesozoic: Evolutionary changes of the mammalian skull and their influence on feeding efficiency and high‐frequency hearing

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 9, Page 2315-2330, September 2026.
Abstract The complex evolutionary history behind modern mammalian chewing performance and hearing function is a result of several changes in the entire skeletomuscular system of the skull and lower jaw. Lately, exciting multifunctional 3D analytical methods and kinematic simulations of feeding functions in both modern and fossil mammals and their ...

Patient‐Specific Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling of Airway Collapse in Infants With Robin Sequence

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 42, Issue 9, September 2026.
This study presents a novel method to analyze the airflow dynamics across the full respiratory cycle in Robin Sequence infants with upper airway obstruction or collapse. It uses 4DCT‐derived airway anatomy and wall movement combined with Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations.

Freeway Origin Destination Matrices: Not as Simple as They Seem [PDF]

open access: yes
Travel demand can be elegantly represented using an Origin-Destination (OD) matrix. The link counts observed on the network are produced by the underlying travel demand. One could use these counts to reconstruct the OD matrix.

Agreement Between WebCeph and Manual Cephalometric Analysis: Cleft and Non‐Cleft Patients Comparison: A Retrospective Method‐Comparison Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Cephalometric analysis is essential in orthodontic diagnosis, but landmark identification is particularly challenging in cleft lip and palate (CLP). Manual tracing remains, however, time‐consuming and operator‐dependent, the gold standard. AI‐based systems such as WebCeph may improve efficiency, though agreement with manual

A Framework to Establish Diet and Nutrition Competencies for Oral Health Care Education

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, Volume 90, Issue 9, Page 1350-1362, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To prevent and manage oral disease, oral health care practitioners (OHCPs) must provide dietary counseling based on nutrition science. OHCPs are often ill‐equipped to provide such counseling due to fragmented and inadequate dietary education, which is typically attributed to limited curricular time or appropriately qualified faculty.

Feeding and Husbandry Practices in Pet Ferrets (Mustela putorius furo): A Cross‐Sectional International Study

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Clearer recommendations and improved caregiver education are urgently needed to support optimal ferret welfare. ABSTRACT Background The domestic ferret (Mustela putorius furo) is an increasingly popular non‐traditional companion animal; however, limited information is available on how caregivers manage feeding and husbandry practices.
