Oculo‐palato‐cerebral dwarfism: a new syndrome
Clinical Genetics, 1985Three of four offspring of consanguineous parents presented a unique association of microcephaly, mental retardation, spasticity, connective tissue abnormalities, cleft palate, persistent hypertrophic primary vitreous, and short stature. In one patient brain atrophy was documented.

Palato-alveolar affricates in several languages
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1979A project to examine phonetic differences between affricates is in progress. Voiceless palato-alveolar affricates and the most similar stops and fricatives have been recorded in closely matched medial positions from 10 speakers of each of three languages speaking at two different speech rates controlled by a metronome.

The oto-palato-digital (OPD) syndrome in females
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1973Abstract The oto-palato-digital syndrome appears to be an X-linked trait with variable expression in the female heterozygote. This includes fullness of lateral supraorbital ridges, retarded growth, and the roentgenographic signs seen in males. To date, no female heterozygote has had cleft palate.

The Oto‐Palato‐Digital Syndrome: Variable Clinical Expressions
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 2002The oto‐palato‐digital (OPD) syndrome is a rare but well‐defined disorder characterized by a skeletal dysplasia of the hands and feet, hearing loss, and anomalies of the palate. Since it was first described by Taybi in 1962, a little over 30 cases have been reported in the literature.

Macroscopic and Microscopic Analysis of the Palato-Gingival Groove
Journal of Endodontics, 2000With the objective of correlating the anatomical aspects of the palato-gingival groove with its etiology, diagnosis, and alternative treatments, 13 permanent maxillary incisors with palato-gingival grooves were selected from a large sample and subjected to macroscopic and microscopic analysis of groove morphology.

Ankyloglossia Superior (Palato-glossal Adhesion in the Newborn Infant)
Pediatrics, 1963A case of "ankyloglossa superior" is described. The operative treatment of this lesion is illustrated. The association between the tongue lesion and digital anomalies is discussed. An acquired etiology is suggested.
