ABSTRACTThe following plant communities probably existed near Snake- town: creosote-bush, desert-saltbush, saltbush-arroweed, seepweed, mesquite thicket, and saguaro-paloverde. Agricultural activities promoted an increase in ragweed (Ambrosiae) as new land was incorporated into the irrigation system in the earlier phases.
