Paleointensity behavior in Barremian–Cenomanian (Cretaceous)
International Journal of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy, 2004Fragmentary knowledge on geomagnetic field intensity in Barremian–Cenomanian stageobtained from sediment rocks is summarized. Three types of periodical variations arerevealed in the paleointensity behavior. The types differ by the amplitude and duration(tens of millennia, hundreds of millennia and more than million years).

The hypothesis that the ratio of detrital remanent magnetization to anhysteretic remanent magnetization (DRM/ARM) for sediment samples is a measure of relative geomagnetic paleointensity is critically evaluated by two distinct approaches. One approach is a detailed rock‐magnetic examination of the implicit assumptions of the DRM/ARM method and the ...

Interactions in rocks and the reliability of paleointensity data
Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 1969Abstract A simple theory of thermoremanent magnetization (TRM) of magnetostatically interacting single-domain grains is presented in this paper. In first approximation, small-field TRM is proportional to applied field and inversely proportional to mean interaction field,Hi.
