Karst-type ore deposits are a major new discovery in many countries made by many mining geologists during the past decade. The present paper offers a case study of an area in southern Sardinia where karstification took place at various intervals, producing superimposed karst systems and local sulphide-barite concentrations.

Paleokarst-Controlled Ore in Central Colorado
1988Abstract We propose that many Tertiary man to orebodies typical of Leadville and adjacent districts of Central Colorado (northern Sawatch range and Mosquito range) are modifications to pre-existing mineralized paleokarst cave systems (Tschauder and Landis, 1985; Landis and Tschauder, 1985).

Paleokarst as a target for modern karstification
Carbonates and Evaporites, 1995Paleokarst phenomena are those that at present or for some duration in the past have been decoupled from all active hydrogeochemical systems. They are widely distributed geographically and are recognized from the Lower Proterozoic onwards in the geological record. Amongst the many fascinating features that they offer for study is their exploitation as “

Proterozoic Paleokarst Profile, Dismal Lakes Group, N.W.T., Canada1
1988The Middle Proterozoic Dismal Lakes Group provides a rare example of Precambrian paleokarst which contains a remarkably complete spectrum of solutional, precipitative, and depositional features. The Dismal Lakes Group is a 1.5-km siliciclastic to carbonate succession that records dominantly stable peritidal carbonate sedimentation along the ...

Unconformities, Paleokarst Facies, and Porosity Evolution: ABSTRACT
AAPG Bulletin, 1987The study of unconformities and paleokarsts from the perspective of modern facies analysis and modeling offers potential advantages in terms of organizing and guiding observations, comparisons, interpretations, predictions, and hydrodynamic considerations.

Paleokarstic Features in Mississippian Limestones, New Mexico
1988Paleokarst features in Mississippian limestones of southern New Mexico occur beneath the sub-Penn- sylvanian unconformity over an area greater than 20,000 km2. These paleokarst features pervade the upper few meters to few tens of meters of the crinoidal calcarenites of the Lake Valley and Kelley formations, and occur in a vertical profile that shows ...

Madison Limestone (Mississippian) Paleokarst: A Geologic Synthesis
1988Widespread karst was developed in the upper 400 feet (120 m) of the Madison Limestone (late Osagean to early Meramecian) in Wyoming and adjacent states during an estimated 34 m.y. period spanning Late Mississippian (early Meramecian to Chesterian) and Early Pennsylvanian (Morrowan) time. The karst was then covered by deposits of an eastward-transgress-
