Searching for Gapped Palindromes

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 2008
AbstractWe study the problem of finding, in a given word, all maximal gapped palindromes verifying two types of constraints, that we call long-armed and length-constrained palindromes. For each of the two classes, we propose an algorithm that runs in time O(n+S) for a constant-size alphabet, where S is the number of output palindromes.

Single‐Droplet Dual‐Target Quantification of circRNA Biomarkers for Colorectal Cancer Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Circular RNAs are crucial in tumorigenesis. This study identifies circCK1γ3 and circWDR37 as dual plasma biomarkers for colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. It is developed Casµchip, a droplet microfluidic chip using Cas13a/b technology to quantify these biomarkers.

Contribution of Prostaglandin E2‐Induced Neuronal Excitation to Drug Resistance in Glioblastoma Countered by a Novel Blood–Brain Barrier Crossing Celecoxib Derivative

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive brain cancer that often recurs and resists chemotherapy. This study found that a chemical called PGE2 causes surrounding brain cells (neurons) to become over‐excited, which makes GBM cells resistant to treatment. Researchers developed a new drug, “Compound 11,” which can cross into the brain and effectively block ...

Palindromic-Type Non-Palindromes - I

open access: yes, 2019
In the previous papers, the author worked with palindromic-type expressions. These expressions are by use of operations addition and multiplications. When the operations are removed, we get even order palindromes. In the previous works, it is limited to particular cases including patterns. The final sum is either palindrome or non-palindrome.

Hsa_circ_0026782 Acts as a “Molecular Break” of CREB1‐Mediated Transcription by Promoting Its Phosphorylation at Ser142 That Prevents Keloid Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Model for the role of hsa_circ_0026782/p‐CREB1 (Ser142) played in keloid. Hsa_circ_0026782 is derived from back‐splicing of ITGA7 exon 4. When hsa_circ_0026782 binds to CREB1, the exposure of the bZIP domain and dimerization of CREB1 are promoted (upper left).

On palindromic factorization of words

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 2013
Given a finite word u, we define its palindromic length |u|pal to be the least number n such that u=v1v2Â?vn with each vi a palindrome. We address the following open question: let P be a positive integer and w an infinite word such that |u|pal≤P for every factor u of w. Must w be ultimately periodic? We give a partial answer to this question by proving

Palindromic Complexity of Trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider finite trees with edges labeled by letters on a finite alphabet $\varSigma$. Each pair of nodes defines a unique labeled path whose trace is a word of the free monoid $\varSigma^*$. The set of all such words defines the language of the tree.

Rationally Designed TadA‐Derived Cytosine Editors Enable Context‐Independent Zebrafish Genome Editing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A next‐generation cytosine base editor (zTadCBE) and other variants are developed by combining the high‐efficiency (TadCBEa) and low‐indel (TadCBEMax) architectures, followed by the introduction of zebrafish‐optimized mutations (V82S, Q154R) in the TadA domain.

Genomic Insights Into a Strong Biofilm‐Forming Enterococcus faecalis MTR_EFS01 Strain Isolated From a Shrimp in Bangladesh

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study characterizes a multidrug‐resistant and strong biofilm‐forming Enterococcus faecalis strain obtained from a shrimp sample in Bangladesh. ABSTRACT Enterococcus faecalis is known for its ability to form strong biofilms and its role as an opportunistic pathogen. In this study, we screened and characterized a multidrug‐resistant (MDR) and strong
