GRAPHISM AND ORGANISATION IN « LES OISEAUX. CHACONNE POUR ORGUE. HOMMAGE À MESSIAEN » BY EDUARD TERÉNYI

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai. Musica, 2011
The first bar of the L’Ascension by Oliver Messiaen was taken by Terényi as “an ostinato bass”, a modal and a harmonical support that has the variations of the Chaconne to develop onto them.

Magical Amulet from Paphos with the ιαεω- Palindrome

open access: yesStudies in Ancient Art and Civilization, 2013
During the first excavation campaign of the Paphos Agora Project (3rd July – 6th August 2011), an interesting object was discovered. In Trench II, Area 2 (Room 5), in the upper, late Roman layer, an oval amulet was found (siltstone, 39.41 x 41.32 x 4 ...

Palindromes in two-dimensional Words [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
A two-dimensional ($2$D) word is a $2$D palindrome if it is equal to its reverse and it is an HV-palindrome if all its columns and rows are $1$D palindromes. We study some combinatorial and structural properties of HV-palindromes and its comparison with $2$D palindromes.

Numeric Palindromes in Primitive and Non-primitive Pythagorean Triples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this article we consider numeric palindromes as a component of a pythagorean triple. We first show that there are infinitely many non-primitive pythagorean triples that contains (i) a single numeric palindrome as a component, (ii) two numeric palindromes as a component and (iii) three numeric palindromes as a component.

Structure and Antigenicity of Kaposi's Sarcoma‐Associated Herpesvirus Glycoprotein B

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Kaposi's sarcoma‐associated herpesvirus (KSHV) causes severe cancers without effective treatments. This study presents an atomic model of KSHV's critical infection protein, gB, revealing a unique structure shared with related herpesviruses like Epstein‐Barr virus (EBV). The structural similarity highlights vulnerable targets for antibodies, guiding the

Algorithms for Quantum Branching Programs Based on Fingerprinting [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2009
In the paper we develop a method for constructing quantum algorithms for computing Boolean functions by quantum ordered read-once branching programs (quantum OBDDs).

Intrinsic palindromic numbers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
We introduce a notion of palindromicity of a natural number which is independent of the base. We study the existence and density of palindromic and multiple palindromic numbers, and we raise several related questions.

Measuring specialty crop grower willingness to pay for genetic modification and genetic editing

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract In contrast to the widespread adoption of agricultural commodities modified using biotechnology, the adoption rate of bioengineered specialty crops by growers remains low. The use of bioengineered crops has been controversial since their introduction in the 1990s due to concerns about their potentially harmful effects to human health, the ...

An Unusual Phage Repressor Encoded by Mycobacteriophage BPs. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Temperate bacteriophages express transcription repressors that maintain lysogeny by down-regulating lytic promoters and confer superinfection immunity.

Correlation Between GC-content and Palindromes in Randomly Generated Sequences and Viral Genomes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
GC-content, the ratio of guanine and cytosine bases in an entire nucleotide sequence, and palindromic sequences are unique for every organism due to genomic evolution. The goals of our research was to establish a correlation between GC-content and palindromic densities in wild-type viral and randomly-generated genomes.
