Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Molecular & Integrative Physiology, 2003
In Jasus edwardsii (Hutton) the vascular resistance of each of the seven major arterial systems leaving the heart was increased in response to several of the following neurotransmitters and neurohormones: acetylcholine, adrenalin, serotonin, dopamine, octopamine and peptides proctolin and FLRFamide-related peptide F(1).

Lipid Nutrition of the Spiny Lobster Panulirus Japonicus (Decapoda, Palinuridae): a Review
Crustaceana, 1994The nutritional research on crustaceans such as the American lobster Homarus americanus and the prawn Penaeus japonicus has been reviewed by several workers. However, nutritional studies on Palinuridae are very scarce, particularly on the larval stages that are difficult to rear under artificial conditions.

Tethys origin and subsequent radiation of the spiny lobsters (Palinuridae)
Crustaceana, 2006[The Palinuridae arose in the Atlantic-European region during early Mesozoic at a period of high sea level in the vast, warm 'Super Tethys' Ocean. During the Tertiary, equator-ward movements of the African, South American, and Australian Plates have subdivided the Tethys, created and expanded the Southern Ocean, and thus produced a multitude of ...

A Revision of the Panulirus Homarus-Group of Spiny Lobsters (Decapoda, Palinuridae)

Crustaceana, 1994
The hemolymph of Japanese spiny lobster was examined for agglutinin and bactericidin activities using 20 (agglutinin) and 25 (bactericidin) strains of marine bacteria. The lobster's sera specifically agglutinated and killed a part of strains belonging to the genera Vibrio and Pseudomonas.

Occurrence of the rare lobster Palinustus unicornutus Berry, 1979 (Decapoda, Palinuridae) in Taiwan
Crustaceana, 2016The deep-sea lobster Palinustus unicornutus Berry, 1979 is reported for the first time from Taiwan, with the largest male and female ever recorded for the species. Additional material of this rare species showed that many distinguishing characters previously suggested for this species are actually variable and its characteristics are re-diagnosed.

Sounds and Behavior of the Spiny Lobster Panulirus Argus (Latreille, 1804) (Decapoda, Palinuridae)

The Ecology of the juvenile southern rock lobster, Jasus edwardsii (Hutton 1875) (Palinuridae).
1995This study examined the life history of juvenile Jasus edwardsii, with a particular emphasis on ontogenetic shifts in ecology, and how these shifts and other ecological factors may influence recruitment rates to maturity and the fishery. The aspects examined included settlement, density and distribution, shelter utilisation and availability, diet ...

Fecundity of spiny lobsterPalinurus gilchristi(Decapoda: Palinuridae) off South Africa
African Journal of Marine Science, 2005Fecundity of spiny lobster Palinurus gilchristi was investigated on traditional lobster fishing grounds on the Agulhas Bank, from Mossel Bay to Algoa Bay, and Port Alfred, based on early- and late-stage egg masses collected from 415 mature females (58–118mm carapace length, CL).

Growth of spiny lobster Palinurus gilchristi (Decapoda: Palinuridae) off South Africa
South African Journal of Marine Science, 1997Growth of spiny lobster Palinurus gilchristi was investigated on four traditional lobster fishing grounds, Agulhas Bank, St Francis, Port Elizabeth and Port Alfred, using tagging data. Of 11 144 individuals tagged insix tagging sessions between 1988 and 1993, 1 031 (9.25 %) were recaptured by May 1995. Most P.
