Catalysis of a Bis-Caffeine Palladium(II) NHC-Pincer Complex

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
A tridentate bis-NHC Pd complex, based on caffeine, was studied for its catalytic activity. This complex displayed a high catalytic activity in the Suzuki–Miyaura and Mizoroki–Heck cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides.

Water‐Compatible SuFEx‐Active Diazonium Linchpin Platform for Rapid Modular Diversification and On‐DNA Functionalization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur fluoride exchange (SuFEx) is a powerful click platform, yet water‐compatible multifunctional linchpins remain elusive. Here, we report decagram‐scalable diazonium linchpins that enable rapid Pd‐catalyzed diversification and direct, catalyst‐free on‐DNA ligation in aqueous media.

Palladium-Catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura Cross-Coupling of Amides via Site-Selective N–C Bond Cleavage by Cooperative Catalysis

open access: yes, 2016
Palladium-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling of primary benzamides enabled by a merger of site-selective N,N-di-Boc-activation and cooperative catalysis via N–C bond cleavage for the synthesis of biaryl ketones is reported.

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Integrated catalysis opens new arylation pathways via regiodivergent enzymatic C–H activation

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Biocatalysis and metal catalysis often provide complimentary reactivities and selectivities. Here, the authors exploit the regioselectivity of an enzymatic C–H activation followed by palladium catalysed carbon-carbon bond formation in one pot, with ...

Stereoselective fluoroarylation of 1,1-difluoroallenes enabled by palladium catalysis

open access: yesGreen Synthesis and Catalysis, 2020
A novel protocol for palladium-catalyzed fluoroarylation of 1,1-difluoroallenes was described here. The reaction proceeded smoothly under mild condition and various trifluoromethylated alkenes were obtained in moderate yields with excellent E selectivity.

Palladium-Catalyzed sp3 C–H Acetoxylation of α,α-Disubstituted α-Amino Acids

open access: yesChemistry, 2023
The sp3 C–H acetoxylation at the β-position of α,α-disubstituted α-amino acids proceeds smoothly under palladium catalysis in the presence of PhI(OAc)2. This reaction provides a straightforward synthetic route to non-natural β-acetoxy-α-amino acids.
