Steps Towards a Template for Fair Comparisons Between Single‐Use and Reusable Items

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, Volume 39, Issue 2, Page 137-159, February 2026.
This paper deals with factors taken up in reuse—single‐use packaging systems comparisons, that are often seen to be missing from LCA studies. The losses and the size of product pool in a reuse system show large effects on the performance of the reuse system and its possible break‐even point.

STS-3/OSS-1 Plasma Diagnostics Package (PDP) measurements of Orbiter transmitter and subsystem electromagnetic interference [PDF]

open access: yes
The plasma diagnostics package receiver system is described to identify the various antennas and to characterize the complement of receivers which cover the frequency range of 30 Hz to 800 Hz and S-band at 2200 + or - 300 MHz.

Pan‐Epigenetic Age Prediction in Mammals

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
Across > 1000 human and mouse epigenomes, histone modifications and DNA methylation undergo coordinated, cross‐tissue remodeling at shared genes. ABSTRACT Epigenetic remodeling is a hallmark of aging, yet which epigenetic layers are most affected during aging—and the extent to which they are interrelated—is not well understood.

Diazirines Beyond Photoaffinity Labeling: A Comprehensive Overview of Applications in Biological Sciences, Materials Chemistry, and NMR‐Spectroscopy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.
Diazirines are three‐membered, nitrogen‐containing heterocycles that decompose under light or heat to generate carbenes. For the past two decades, they have served mainly as minimally invasive tags in photoaffinity labeling (PAL). More recently, their value as versatile carbene precursors has been recognized.

A comprehensive overview of yeast libraries and their role in advancing cell biology

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 3, Page 625-647, February 2026.
Systematic, genome‐wide yeast mutant libraries have revolutionized systems and cell biology. By allowing high‐throughput interrogation of every gene and protein, they have defined gene essentiality, charted protein localization, illuminated function, mapped interactions, and more.

Fear of Violent Crime and Emigration Intentions in the Northern Triangle: Current Developments

open access: yesSociological Inquiry, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 190-218, February 2026.
Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras—countries that comprise the region known as the Northern Triangle—have experienced a significant increase in emigration to the United States in recent years. A vast literature suggests that a major push factor is the persistence of criminal violence in the region.
