Shear behaviour of reinforced palm kernel shell concrete beams

Construction and Building Materials, 2011
Abstract The shear behaviour of palm kernel shell concrete (PKSC) beams prepared using palm kernel shell (PKS) as lightweight aggregate (LWA) is reported here. The shear strength of grade 30 PKSC with a density of 1850 kg/m3 was found 24% higher than the corresponding normal weight concrete (NWC).

Torrefaction of densified mesocarp fibre and palm kernel shell

Renewable Energy, 2018
Abstract Mesocarp fibre and palm kernel shell (PKS) are widely used as fuels for boilers at palm oil mills to generate electricity. In the present study, the PKS and mesocarp fibre were densified under a controlled condition in prior to torrefaction process.

Thermogravimetric analysis of Silantek coal, Palm Kernel Shell, Palm Kernel Shell char and their blends during combustion

2011 3rd International Symposium & Exhibition in Sustainable Energy & Environment (ISESEE), 2011
Preliminary thermogravimetric studies of Silantek coal (SL), Palm Kernel Shell (PKS), PKS char and their blends have been performed in a Thermogravimetry Analyser(TGA). PKS char were produced using microwave irradiation carbonization system at power of 300 Watt, with nitrogen flow rate of 150 mL/min for 30 minutes.
