Catalytic pyrolysis of palm kernel shell waste in a fluidized bed
Bioresource Technology, 2014The catalytic pyrolysis of palm kernel shell was investigated in a fluidized bed with zsm-5 and equilibrium FCC (Ecat) catalysts. Catalytic pyrolysis oil yields were remarkably reduced and gas yields were increased due to the higher catalytic reaction of primary volatiles compared to non-catalytic pyrolysis. Char yields were affected by temperature and

Palm kernel shell as a lightweight aggregate for concrete
Cement and Concrete Research, 1988Abstract These concrete mixes of widely differing water/cement ratios were made using palm kernel shell as course aggregate. The properties tested include the physical properties of the shell, the compressive, flexural and tensile splitting strengths of the concrete.

Palm kernel shell as a lightweight aggregate in concrete
Building and Environment, 1990Abstract An artificial aggregate, the plam kernel shell obtained from palm nut, can be classified as organic lightweight aggregate. Tests on the concrete made with this material as coarse aggregate, show a density range of 1450 kg m −3 to 1750 kg m −3 , which classifies it as lightweight concrete.
