Self‐Sensing Artificial‐Muscle‐Empowered Humanlike Perception, Interaction, and Positioning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
The proposed self‐sensorized artificial muscle (SSAM) can sense its length change as small as 0.01 mm via a seamlessly integrated multi‐segment induction coil. The SSAM provides accurate length information regardless of its loadings, driving pressure, or muscle design, adequate for robust data‐driven feedback control.

Characterization of an entomopathogenic fungi, Aspergillus sp. R55 as a biocontrol agent against invasive rugose spiraling whitefly infesting oil palm in India

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Biological Pest Control
Background Rugose spiraling whitefly (RSW), a native Central America species, was first reported in India during 2016. Since then, the observed rapid geographical distribution and consistent incidence over the years gave the insect, a key pest status on ...

Genotype and Nitrogen Source Influence Drought Stress Response in Oil Palm Seedlings

open access: yesAgronomy
As a significant global source of vegetable oil, the oil palm’s ability to withstand abiotic stresses, particularly drought, is crucial for sustainable agriculture. This is especially significant in tropical regions, where water scarcity is becoming more

Dimorphic enantiostyly and its function for pollination by carpenter bees in a pollen‐rewarding Caribbean bloodwort

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Flowers that present their anthers and stigma in close proximity can achieve precise animal‐mediated pollen transfer, but risk self‐pollination. One evolutionary solution is reciprocal herkogamy. Reciprocity of anther and style positions among different plants (i.e., a genetic dimorphism) is common in distylous plants, but very rare in

Brazil Nut Flour as a Functional Ingredient: Effects on Texture, Composition and Sensory Profile of Reduced‐Sugar Gluten‐Free Cookies

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
Graphical abstract of the characterization of Brazil nut flour (BNF) and the impact of its addition on the nutritional and sensory properties of gluten‐free and low‐sugar cookies. The results show that BNF contributed to an improved nutritional quality of the cookies and enhanced overall product acceptance.

Physiological effects of water deficit on two oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) genotypes

open access: yesAgronomía Colombiana, 2015
Water supply is the main limiting factor that affects oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) yield. This study aimed to evaluate the gas exchange and photosynthetic capacity, determine the physiological effects and assess the tolerance potential of oil palm ...
