No Cystometrogram Among Veterans With Spinal Cord Injury Results in Adverse Urinary System Outcomes

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background A prior study of a large cohort of veterans with supra‐sacral spinal cord injury or disorder (SCI/D) showed, as seen in other cohorts, substantial variation in application of bladder care processes and, specifically in the proportion of patients undergoing cystometrography (CMG). The next step in a systematic evaluation such as this

Nanoplastics Impair GnRH Neuron Migration and Neuroendocrine Function: Emerging Players in the Pathogenesis of Reproductive Disorders

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Little is known about the effects of polystyrene nanoplastics (PS‐NPs) on gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons, which control puberty onset and fertility. By applying tailored in vitro GnRH neuron models, this article shows how PS‐NPs are internalized and impact hormone secretion and cell migration, through gene expression changes. Ultimately,

Cell Culture Substrate Variation Alters Extracellular Vesicle Biogenesis Without Affecting Non‐Coding Repeat RNA Profile

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Cell culture biomechanical conditions influence extracellular vesicles (EVs) production in patient‐derived pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cell lines. When grown in 3D conformation and in hydrogels with lower elasticity (0.5kPA), PDAC cells produce higher numbers of EVs, compared with cells grown in 2D on classic cell culture plastic.

Processing Stabilization of Polyolefin Recyclates Using Alditols in Combination With α‐Tocopherol: A Sustainable Alternative to Phosphites

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, EarlyView.
A novel bio‐based stabilizer system significantly improves the quality of polyolefin recyclates during multiple recycling cycles. ABSTRACT This study introduces a novel bio‐based stabilizer system for polyolefin recyclates that combines alditols with small amounts of α‐tocopherol as a sustainable alternative to conventional phosphite additives. The aim

Complications Associated With AMT Nasal Bridle Use: An FDA MAUDE Analysis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nasal bridles have been used with increasing frequency and can be deployed at bedside. They are effective in reducing dislodgement of nasogastric tubes in the hospital setting and may increase caloric intake. Adverse events associated with device malfunction or improper use can occur and have a detrimental effect on patients.

Sexing the history of Indian anti‐colonial internationalism: White women, Indian men and the politics of the personal

open access: yesGender &History, EarlyView.
Abstract In contrast to the wealth of literature on the gendered and sexual politics of Indian nationalism, studies on the internationalisation of Indian anti‐colonial nationalism are rarely informed by the twin themes of gender and sexuality. As Indian activists traversed international political spaces in the early twentieth century, they frequently ...

Putting the Femme in Feminist: Trans Feminism and the ‘Male Lesbian’ in the American Second Wave

open access: yesGender &History, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A slur, a joke or a post‐structuralist case of mistaken identity. To the extent that the male lesbian has been discussed, she has figured dismissively. Yet throughout the period historicised as American feminism's second wave, potentially thousands of trans femmes organised under this identity. Despite being entirely overlooked in scholarship,
