Influence of spatial resolution on pan-sharpening results
2012 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2012Pan-sharpening techniques improve the spatial resolution of a Multispectral image (MS) by using a Panchromatic image (PAN) of the same scene contemporaneously acquired at higher resolution. Usually, a quantitative assessment of the resulting fused MS image cannot be directly performed because of the lack of a reference MS.

Pan-sharpening: a fast variational fusion approach
Science China Information Sciences, 2012A fast variational fusion model based on partial differential equations (PDEs) is presented for pansharpening. The functional framework consists of several energy terms. The gradient energy term is created by calculating the gradient vector field of the panchromatic image and the geometry of the pan is injected into the multi-spectral bands.
