Retrieval of Proximally Migrated and Bended Pancreatic Stent by Using a New-Generation Cholangioscope

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Endoscopy
Objective: Spontaneous migration of plastic stents placed in the pancreatic duct toward the duodenal lumen rarely occurs. However, removal of the plastic stent that has migrated to the proximal pancreatic duct is also a condition that requires treatment.

Reconfigurable Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles with Therapeutic RNAi Responses to Intracellular Disease Markers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Many known diseases arise from dysregulated gene expression, and differentially expressed genes can serve as biomarkers to distinguish diseased cells from healthy tissues. In this study, reconfigurable nucleic acid nanoparticles (recNANPs) are introduced that can detect overexpressed cancer biomarkers and subsequently release RNAi inducers to silence ...

Traumatic transection of the pancreatic duct

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2009
A young man presented after a mountain biking accident having received a sharp blow from his handlebars to just below his right costal margin. Although initially he was clinically well and his primary investigations were normal, he was admitted for observation.

Seeing inside the Body Using Wearable Sensing and Imaging Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores wearable technologies for noninvasive internal health monitoring. It categorizes approaches into indirect sensing (e.g., bioelectrical and biochemical signals) and direct imaging (e.g., wearable ultrasound and EIT), highlighting multimodal integration and system‐level innovation toward personalized, continuous healthcare.

Ligation of the pancreatic duct in pancreatectomy

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1980
Summary This study was undertaken to determine the safety of duct ligation in pancreatic surgery. Duct ligation was performed in 43 patients after pancreaticoduodenectomy and in 108 patients after distal pancreatectomy; 33 patients had a pancreaticojejunostomy after a pancreaticoduodenectomy.

Development of a Modular Ribonucleoprotein Complex as a General Strategy to Deliver RNAi Therapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A modular and customizable RNAi therapeutics delivery platform composed of a pseudosymmetric human RNA binding protein‐siRNA complex (SmiRNP) is developed. By fusing a targeting module and an endosomal escape peptide onto the delivery platform, SmiRNP successfully delivered siRNA to silence the KRAS oncogene in a colorectal carcinoma cell line, leading

Effect of different pancreatic stump closure techniques during distal pancreatectomy to the frequency and severity of acute postoperative pancreatitis [PDF]

open access: yesСаратовский научно-медицинский журнал, 2018
The Aim: to study the effect of different pancreatic stump closure techniques, including depending on the diameter of the main pancreatic duct to frequency and severity of acute postoperative pancreatitis after distal pancreatectomy. Material and Methods.

Rational Design of Metal–Organic Frameworks for Pancreatic Cancer Therapy: from Machine Learning Screening to In Vivo Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores the MOF landscape to select a single, optimal candidate for successfully delivering cancer drugs (gemcitabine, paclitaxel, SN‐38) into tough pancreatic tumors. Machine learning and simulations guide this search, demonstrating colloidal stability, excellent biocompatibility, cellular uptake, and sustained release.
