Pancreatic cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality associated with cancer. Signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT)3 is implicated in metastasis of pancreatic cancer. Various cytokines, growth factors and environmental stimuli have been identified to activate STAT3.

Facial rhabdomyosarcoma with an isolated pancreatic metastasis

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue tumour in children. This is the first time a facial RMS metastatic to the pancreas is reported. The patient was a 3-year-old boy with a symptomatic solitary pancreatic metastasis of a primary facial RMS, with already one relapse in a submental lymph node.
