Emergency cholecystectomy was evaluated in patients with acute cholecystitis classified as non‐recommended for surgery by the Tokyo Guidelines 2018. Major postoperative complications, rather than mortality, better reflected operative risk. Physiological instability, particularly ASA‐PS ≥ 3 and shock status, identified high‐risk patients, suggesting ...

Feeding enterostomy during MIE was evaluated in 19 054 patients from the Japanese NCD using propensity weighting. Enterostomy was associated with higher reoperation and respiratory complications, but lower delayed gastric emptying and deep vein thrombosis, with no significant difference in overall bowel obstruction.

Patterns of Pathomorphological Changes in Acute Necrotizing Pancreatitis
Acinar necrosis is the basic microscopic sign of acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP). Microcirculation disorder is one of the major factors in the pathogenesis and morphogenesis of ANP besides free radicals and damage of enzymatic origin.

This graphical abstract summarizes our study in which we established a novel murine model of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)‐associated vasculitis. Neutrophil recruitment was induced using thioglycolate, followed by timed administration of propylthiouracil and phorbol 12‐myristate 13‐acetate to generate DNase I‐resistant neutrophil ...

Therapeutic Applications of Stimuli‐Based Release and Engineering of Extracellular Vesicles
This review summarizes the effects of endogenous and exogenous stimuli, their effects on the natural release of extracellular vesicles, as well as their uptake and release. It also gives an overview of stimuli‐responsive EVs and their therapeutic applications. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), nano‐ to microsized lipid bilayer membrane‐bound particles, are
