Genome-wide association mapping for root cone angle in rice
Background Plant root systems play a major role in anchoring and in water and nutrient uptake from the soil. The root cone angle is an important parameter of the root system architecture because, combined with root depth, it helps to determine the volume

Experimental and theoretical supersonic lateral-directional stability characteristics of a simplified wing-body configuration with a series of vertical-tail arrangements [PDF]
An experimental investigation was conducted to provide a systematic set of lateral-directional stability data for a simplified wing-body model with a series of vertical-tail arrangements.

Novel wire grid embedded C-sandwich radome structures for broadband airborne applications [PDF]
The application of symmetric wire grid structures for the broadbanding of C-sandwich radome panel, with core thickness optimized for power transmission, is presented. The performance parameters of wire grid embedded C-sandwich wall are evaluated based on

On probing the properties of QSOs through their proximity effects on the intergalactic medium
The proximity effect (PE) of QSOs is believed to be useful in constraining the QSO lifetime. Observations on the PE so far, however, give apparently contradictory results -- some are consistent with a long QSO lifetime (>~ a few 10^7 yr), but others ...

Minimal Bending Energies of Bilayer Polyhedra [PDF]
Motivated by recent experiments on bilayer polyhedra composed of amphiphilic molecules, we study the elastic bending energies of bilayer vesicles forming polyhedral shapes.

Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

pysolorie: A Python Package for Optimal Orientation Analysis of Solar Panels
How can one maximize the solar irradiation energy received by a fixed flat solar panel? The orientation of a solar panel is determined by two angles: the tilt angle and the azimuthal angle.

The response of cylindrical panels fabricated from symmetrically and unsymmetrically laminated composite materials [PDF]
Equations are developed which govern the deflection response of long cylindrical panels subjected to a line load. The line load is directed toward the center of curvature of the panel, is located at an arbitrary point along the arc length of the panel ...

The optimum tilt angle and orientation for Solar panels
In this paper we present evaluated the performance of four small PV modules at different tilt angle and analyze the relationship of solar radiation power Production with the angle by using actual measurement data for all months of the year and in August specially. And then study the relationship between the solar radiation and output power.

This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.
