An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Relating Question Type to Panel Conditioning: A Comparison between Trained and Fresh Respondents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Panel conditioning arises if respondents are influenced by participation in previous surveys, such that their answers differ significantly from the answers of individuals who are interviewed for the first time.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Do Government Payments Influence Farm Size and Survival?

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, 2007
Using farm-level data from the 1987, 1992, and 1997 Census of Agriculture, this study estimates what effect agricultural payments have had on the likelihood of farm business survival and on farm size.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Attitudes Over Time: The Psychology of Panel Conditioning

open access: yes, 2017
In this chapter, our focus is on panel conditioning with respect to attitude questions. Our methodological approach is different from the majority of previous studies in this area, in that we do not attempt to estimate biases in marginal and ...

Topography optimization of an enclosure panel for low-frequency noise and vibration reduction using the equivalent radiated power approach

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2019
An enclosure panel is widely used in industrial applications. The panel under a dynamic loading excites the surrounding air medium and noise is radiated into the acoustic space. The radiated sound can be suppressed by having changes in the structure. The

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Moderators of Panel Conditioning in Sensitive Questions. A Meta-Analysis

open access: yes, 2019
Relevance & Research Question: Panel Conditioning is a learning effect, that can endanger the validity of results from panel studies. It describes actual changes in attitudes or behaviors or the way they are reported due to participation in former survey
