Assessing the Impact of Income Redistribution on Growth: Evidence From the E6 Countries

open access: yesMaliye ve Finans Yazıları
This study examines the effect of income distribution on economic growth across the E6 countries, namely China, Türkiye, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, and India, from 1988 to 2021, employing the Panel Corrected Standard Errors (PCSE) method.

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

Does Bank Agricultural Credit Reduce Poverty Level and Income Inequality in Ethiopia: Panel Corrected Standard Errors (PCSE) Approach

open access: yesResearch on World Agricultural Economy
Harshly, the problem of poverty and income inequality overwhelmed a significant portion of the world’s population and remained one of the economic curses posing catastrophic consequences on society’s economic as well as social well-being. Hence, this study investigated the effects of extending bank agricultural credit on Ethiopia’s poverty level and ...

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Is economic fitness helpful in achieving environmental sustainability in BRICS economies? A risk exposure perspective

open access: yesChinese Journal of Population, Resources and Environment
A country’s ability to create complex goods and diversify its lines of products is essential for addressing all types of vulnerabilities. Quantifying a country’s vulnerability to extreme climatic events, such as droughts, superstorms, and other natural ...

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

How energy transition and fintech influence income inequality in Sub-Saharan Africa: Evidence from a panel-corrected standard error approach

open access: yesNext Energy
This study explores the role of financial technology (FinTech) and the energy transition in shaping income inequality across 45 sub-Saharan African economies (SSA). By employing the panel-corrected standard errors approach, the analysis takes into account contextual and institutional factors, as well as regional specificities, for the period extending ...

Castration‐resistant prostate cancer cells are addicted to the high activity of cyclin‐dependent kinase 2

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that emergence of castration‐resistant prostate (CRPC) is associated with significant upregulation of cyclins that positively regulate cyclin‐dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) and concomitant downregulation of CDK4 cyclins. This renders CRPC cells dependent on the high activity of CDK2, and CDK2 inhibitors synergistically sensitize CRPC cells to both ...

Profiling neoadjuvant therapy response in rectal cancer using meta‐analysis of publicly available transcriptomic RNA‐seq datasets

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates publicly available transcriptomic datasets to identify molecular signatures associated with response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer. By analyzing a combination of multiple cohorts with bioinformatics approaches, we reveal biological pathways and immune‐related features that may improve ...

SPHINX31 acts as a SRPK1 inhibitor targeting the ATR/DNA‐PKcs/CHK1 replicative checkpoint to inhibit cell growth in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The kinase SRPK1 directly interacts with the protein TOPBP1 and regulates the pre‐mRNA splicing of WIZ thereby contributing to the activation of the ATR/CHK1 replicative checkpoint in response to replicative stress. This allows cancer cells' genomic stability and survival.
