Sarcoma resembling a feline injection site sarcoma along the scar of previous forequarter amputation for the treatment of distal humeral osteosarcoma in a cat

Abstract A 9‐year‐old, male, neutered, domestic shorthair cat underwent a right forequarter amputation for osteoblastic osteosarcoma of the distal humerus. Seven months post‐operatively, the cat was reassessed for a firm, semi‐fixed mass along the surgical scar.

Evidence of feline panleukopenia infection in cats in India [PDF]

The samples collected from cats showing clinical signs suspected for feline panleukopenia infection were confirmed using various molecular techniques and virus isolation. The suspected samples were confirmed using feline parvovirus specific primers. The partial VP2 gene was submitted to GenBank for the first time in India (Accession number JQ684660.1).

Feline panleukopenia virus was propagated in different types of cell cultures from different origins and passages: NLFK 224, NLFK319, CRFK, A72, MDCK, Vero and BHK 21. It was found that the most suitable cells for virus propagation were NLFK224.
