Panoramic radiography—An adjunct
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1977Abstract This article reports the results of a study in which pairs of 100 panoramic and intraoral survey radiographs were analyzed to reveal significant coverage differences between the two types of radiograph.

Intraoral or Panoramic Radiography?
Dental Clinics of North America, 1984When panoramic radiographs are used to replace full-mouth radiographic series for the pediatric patient, certain advantages and disadvantages of this technique should be understood. The panoramic exposure offers ease of operation, shorter working time, and greater coverage than does the intraoral full-mouth series.

Mapping of a multilayer panoramic radiography device
Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, 2022Objective: To map the shape, location, and thickness of the focal trough of a panoramic radiography device with a multilayer imaging program. Methods: An acrylic plate (148 × 148 × 3 mm) containing 1156 holes distributed in a matrix of 34 × 34 rows was placed in the OP300 Maxio at the levels of the maxilla and mandible.

Nonrotational scanning in panoramic radiography
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1990A mathematical analysis of orthoradiography, nonrotational scanning in panoramic radiography, and rotational panoramic radiography shows that they may all be described by the same set of equations. The other two techniques may be regarded as special cases of rotational panoramic radiography.

Limitations of panoramic radiography
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1968Abstract Oral panography is a valuable and simplified procedure which can supply helpful and even essential information in a variety of situations encountered in daily practice. Lack of clarity of the image projected on the film contraindicates complete reliance on this procedure when image sharpness is essential, as it usually is. As a supplement to

Dose reduction in panoramic radiography.
Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, 1993A modern programmable panoramic radiography unit was used to irradiate an anthropomorphic phantom in order to assess the variation in organ absorbed dose and calculated effective dose with program selection. The results of the measurements for five of the 12 programs available are presented, together with those obtained from an older, non-programmable ...

Image quality in panoramic radiography.
Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, 1995Because of the increase in panoramic radiography it is important to know if image quality has improved with recent technical developments and if there are differences between the different machines that can justify the difference in price. Six conventional panoramic units and the two panoramic programs (dental and jaw panorama) of the Scanora (Soredex,

Panoramic radiography in the examination of edentulous patients
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1977A radiologic survey covering 4 years and using orthopantomography was made of 287 edentulous patients prior to denture construction. Orthopantomographs revealed 155 significant lesions in 41 per cent of the patients examined. Therefore, the use of panoramic radiography before any prosthetic procedure is undertaken seems justified.
