A Convolutional Neural Network Based Auto-Positioning Method For Dental Arch In Rotational Panoramic Radiography

Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2018
Dental panoramic radiography (DPR), a widely used medical examination method, has its intrinsic weakness in high requirement to the positioning of patient.

Patient-selection criteria for panoramic radiography

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1984
The purpose of this study was to determine whether selection criteria could be developed for the use of panoramic radiographs in the treatment planning of patients seeking dental care. A total of 1,424 patients were included in this 10-month study. Clinicians were asked to indicate what signs or symptoms caused them to order a panoramic radiograph ...

Panoramic radiography in dentistry.

Refu'at ha-peh veha-shinayim (Tel Aviv, Israel : 1969), 1977
Examples of panoramic radiography equipment in use are briefly reviewed and the differences pointed out between those operating on the principle of tomography and other "panoramic" instruments. The various uses to which panoramic radiography is put are described and the problems involved in using them explained.

Dimensions of the Focal Trough in Panoramic Radiography

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1972
A method of radiographing target pins in a known repeatable position was devised so that the outline of the focal area in the panoramic radiograph unit could be delineated. A pin-holding device was so designed that target pins could be moved across the area of focus in three parallel planes.

OSL dosimeters for dental panoramic radiography

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2018
The aim of the present work is to determine dosimetric characteristics of commercial optically stimulated luminescence dosimeter (OSLD) to estimate equivalent dose in the patient undergoing panoramic radiography procedure. Digital panoramic unit "Instrumentarium OP200D" was used.

Blurring effects in rotational panoramic radiography

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1982
Abstract A computer model was developed to investigate how accurately conventional expressions for unsharpness and layer thickness in rotational panoramic radiography approximate the situation encountered in real systems in which the rotational center slides and the effective projection radius varies continuously.

The use of panoramic radiography in the medical center

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1968
Abstract There are innumerable indications and applications for the panoramic radiographic examination of maxillomandibular structure and teeth. This procedure can be used in diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment, and follow-up service. In the medical center, the dentist should make it known that panoramic equipment is available if it is not ...

Applicability of simultaneous rotational panoramic radiography.

Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, 1990
The position of the image layer in simultaneous multilayer rotational panoramic radiography using films placed parallel in one cassette was calculated for curved and flat cassettes. Parallel films do not result in parallel layers. The use of a flat cassette results in minor shifts in layer position compared with a curved cassette.
