Shifting fire regimes pose immediate threats to animal conservation. Swedish birds appear to mostly ignore prescribed fire, and some species even continue to sing. Behavioural plasticity towards fire is poorly understood, but may prove to be an essential tool in animal conservation.

Fire‐induced shifts in activity patterns of predators and prey in the Brazilian Pantanal

The Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
Using camera trap data, we observed that 5 of 6 prey species showed statistically significant changes in temporal activity patterns, while jaguars were the only predator species to adjust activity when comparing pre‐fire and post‐fire periods in an isolated rocky formation in the Pantanal region.

Morphology of Guard Hairs in Amazonian Marsupials: Intergeneric Variation, Habitat and Habit Association in a Phylogenetic Framework of the Order Didelphimorphia
