A 1-yr-old male leopard (Panthera pardus) presented for intermittent anorexia, emaciation, and generalized muscle wasting. Plain radiographs, ultrasonography, and esophageal endoscopy led to a diagnosis of diaphragmatic eventration with probable concurrent hiatal hernia.

A Case Report of Pyometra in the Leopard ( Panthera Pardus )

SUMMARY Post-mortem examination of a 20-year-old spotted leopard revealed a closed pyometra and chronic peritonitis. A long-standing rupture of the uterine wall suggested that the peritonitis was a result of infected fluid passing to the peritoneal cavity. The route of entry of the recovered bacteria is discussed.

Persian Leopard (Panthera pardus) Attack in Oklahoma

The authors report a fatal case of a Persian leopard (Panthera pardus) attack in an animal sanctuary in Oklahoma. The victim was a 53-year-old Costa Rican woman who was attempting to feed the animal when she was attacked and killed. Autopsy, radiography, fingerprint analysis, microbiologic cultures, and dental impressions were used to evaluate the case.
