Pantoea coffeiphila sp. nov., cause of the potato taste of Arabica coffee from the African Great Lakes region [PDF]
Six isolates recovered from coffee seeds giving off a potato-like flavour were studied. Gene sequencing (rrs and rpoB) showed they belong to the genus Pantoea.

A multilocus sequence typing approach is proposed to explore Halymorpha halys genetic diversity, taking into consideration both insect nuclear markers and markers from the gut symbiont “Candidatus Pantoa carbekii.” Increased information was revealed regarding the number of distinct holobiont haplotypes in native and invasive populations of the pest ...

Draft genome of Rosenbergiella nectarea strain 8N4T provides insights into the potential role of this species in its plant host. [PDF]
Background:Rosenbergiella nectarea strain 8N4T, the type species of the genus Rosenbergiella, was isolated from Amygdalus communis (almond) floral nectar. Other strains of this species were isolated from the floral nectar of Citrus paradisi (grapefruit),

Characterization of the dynamic microbiome evolution across thrips species
Comprehensive survey of the microbiome in thrips. The dominant bacterial genera found in thrips include intracellular ones, such as Wolbachia and Spiroplasma, and extracellular ones, including Serratia, Pantoea, and Acinetobacter. We isolated and sequenced high‐quality genomes of two dominant symbionts, Pantoea dispersa and Serratia marcescens.

This review highlights recent advances in understanding how plant protection programs and alternative fungicides affect the taxonomic composition of the grapevine phyllosphere microbiota. Bacterial and fungal communities are primarily shaped by the plant compartment, vineyard location, and sampling time. Plant protection programs generally have a minor

Insights into Cross-Kingdom Plant Pathogenic Bacteria [PDF]
Plant and human pathogens have evolved disease factors to successfully exploit their respective hosts. Phytopathogens utilize specific determinants that help to breach reinforced cell walls and manipulate plant physiology to facilitate the disease ...
