Satellite observations of the effect of enso on the Tehuantepec and Papagayo upwellings
, 2012 "The effects of El Niño Southern Oscillation 1997-1998 on the Eastern Tropical Pacific Ocean are evaluated for the Tehuantepec (Mexico) and Papagayo (Costa Rica) upwelling regions. The influence of this phenomenon was observed by comparing sea surface temperature anomalies over a 3-year period, from winter 1996-1997 to winter 1999-2000.
