CY0‐to‐CY1 Conversion in Gastric Cancer Peritoneal Lavage Cytology: Clinical Significance and Improved Cell Retention by Et + PA Fixation

Among 287 patients with resected gastric cancer, 10 showed CY0‐to‐CY1 conversion between intraoperative rapid cytology and permanent peritoneal lavage cytology. CY0‐to‐CY1 conversion was associated with poor prognosis, indicating that this discordance is clinically meaningful.
