A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Effect of dispersing of filler on paper properties

open access: yes, 2010
Kuljetettaessa täyteainetta pidempiä matkoja voidaan aikaan saada säästöjä, mikäli täyteaineliete valmistetaan korkeaan kuiva-ainepitoisuuteen. Dispergointiaineen avulla täyteainelietteen kuiva-ainepitoisuutta voidaan nostaa ilman, että menetetään ...

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Impact of Nano-Silica, Cationic Polyacrylamide, and Cationic Starch on Long Fiber Utilization in Recycled Paper Production

open access: yesBioResources
This study evaluated the individual and combined effects of four additives—nano-silica, cationic polyacrylamide, cationic starch, and long fibers—on paper production from recycled white pulp. Various combinations were tested with long fiber pulp (0%, 5%,
