Characteristics of Pulps and Their Papermaking Potential
Drying Technology, 2007This work is a contribution to the characterization of the papermaking potential of wood pulps. Prevision of this potential developed during the drying process is the scope of this study. The VARIDIM© apparatus allows to measure shrinkage for different loads applied on the paper strip samples with constant air-drying conditions.

The potential for synfuels production from cellulosic papermaking wastes
Resources and Conservation, 1984Abstract Papermaking wastes, available in large quantities, have the potential for providing the raw materials for production of commodity chemicals, many of which are suitable for fuels use. A number of techniques are being developed for the recovery of these chemicals.

The potential use of Fabaceae lianas fibers in papermaking
European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2018The objective of this study was to anatomically characterize the fibers of nine species of Fabaceae lianas, to determine their potential in papermaking and to define which biometric parameters can be used to distinguish and identify individuals. The species presented average values of 76.81, 57.45, 42.55, and 1.81 for the felting index, wall fraction ...

Zeta Potential Modeling of Papermaking Wastewater on Neural Network
2012 Second International Conference on Instrumentation, Measurement, Computer, Communication and Control, 2012The key of the papermaking wastewater treatment is to control the amount of added flocculants, the effect of the dosage can be clearly reflected by zeta potential's changes in wastewater, so zeta potential modeling reflects the actual flocculation process of wastewater.

Effect of Eucalyptus globulus wood density on papermaking potential
TAPPI Journal, 2008It is well documented that the characteristics of raw materials determine the papermaking potential of the pulp. The variability of the wood used by the pulp mills is extremely wide. We report on the behavior of three Eucalyptus globulus wood chip samples with basic densities of 0.467, 0.537, and 0.600 g/cm3, in kraft cooking and papermaking.
