Papillary carcinomas of the endometrium

Gynecologic Oncology, 1990
A retrospective study of patients with papillary endometrial carcinomas was performed. Of 761 patients with endometrial carcinomas treated at the Royal Brisbane Hospital between 1982 and 1989, 19 (2.4%) had papillary endometrial carcinoma (PEC) and 21 (2.8%) had papillary serous endometrial carcinoma (SPEC).

Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinics of North America, 1990
Multiple prognostic factors for outcome in papillary thyroid carcinoma are identified. For a cohort of 1500 consecutive patients followed an average of 16 years, survival rates for tumor recurrence and cause-specific mortality are described. Risk groups derived from novel prognostic scoring or staging systems and the role of DNA ploidy testing are ...

Papilloma and papillary carcinoma

Seminars in Diagnostic Pathology, 2010
Papillomas and papillary carcinomas differ in their 3 fundamental characteristics: the geometric properties of their fronds, the amount of their stroma, and the characteristics of their epithelium. Fibrosis at the edge of papillomas often entraps glands and creates the spurious impression of invasion.

Papillary carcinoma of the thyroid

Seminars in Surgical Oncology, 1991
AbstractThe clinical behavior and mortality rate of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid varies widely, and clinically insignificant microscopic foci of the disease are frequently found. Dietary iodine and radiation to the head and neck in childhood play a role in etiology. Needle aspiration cytology provides a highly accurate diagnosis.

Papillary Serous Carcinoma of the Retroperitoneum

Journal of Urology, 1983
We describe a retroperitoneal neoplasm in an 11-year-old girl which had a light microscopic appearance identical to that of papillary serous carcinoma of the ovary. There was no evidence of ovarian involvement. Immunohistochemical staining for amylase was positive within the cytoplasm of tumor cells. Since amylase is a marker for serous ovarian tumors,

Simultaneous occurrence of medullary carcinoma and papillary carcinoma and papillary carcinoma of the thyroid

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1995
AbstractWe report a case of simultaneous occurrence of medullary carcinoma and papillary carcinoma of the thyroid in the same thyroid gland. Immunoreactivity of calcitonin, carcinoembryonic antigen, neuron specific enolase and thyroglobulin made a sharp distinction between both neoplasms of the thyroid.

Intraductal papillary carcinoma of the pancreas

Abdominal Imaging, 1994
We report a case of intraductal papillary adenocarcinoma of the distal pancreatic duct. Although a rare subgroup of exocrine pancreatic tumors, their diagnosis is an important one in view of their favorable prognosis with pancreatectomy. Because of the established behavior of villous tumors of the colon, to which they are similar histologically, these ...

Familial Papillary Carcinoma of the Thyroi

Archives of Surgery, 1981
Although the number of reported cases of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid in families is few, a review of the literature and the three cases presented here strongly suggest the characteristics of hereditary cancer. Further study and reportage of similar cases is indicated to confirm whether this is indeed a familial cancer.

Papillary and Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma

New England Journal of Medicine, 1998
Papillary and follicular carcinomas of the thyroid are differentiated carcinomas developed from the follicular epithelium, that keep some of its morphological and functional characteristics. Their increased incidence is related to an improved screening. Thyroid carcinoma usually presents as a thyroid nodule.
