Robot‐Assisted Partial Nephrectomy for Multiple Synchronous Renal Tumors in Unilateral Kidney Using Hinotori Surgical System: A Case Report

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Multiple synchronous renal tumors (MSRT) in unilateral kidney are clinically rare. Simultaneous resection for multiple tumors with RAPN is complicated and challenging. Herein, we report the successful resection of three synchronous renal tumors located in unilateral kidney with RAPN using the hinotori surgical robot system.

TBCancer: A database for exploring characteristics and functions of tissue‐biased genes in cancer

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
This study defined 10,921 tissue‐biased genes across 54 normal tissues and 41 cancer types. Tumor‐associated tissue‐biased genes exhibit downregulation, mutations, and epigenetic modifications, correlating with poor clinical outcomes. Their inactivation promotes tumorigenesis by enhancing stemness and immune evasion, highlighting their value as ...

Patient‐derived xenograft models in pan‐cancer: From bench to clinic

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Patient‐derived xenograft (PDX) models provide a robust preclinical platform that preserves the genetic and phenotypic heterogeneity of patient tumors while mirroring their tumor genetic characteristics, which retain malignant cells and the tumor pathological structure, making them valuable for studying tumor progression and developing ...

Assessment of the Effects of Cigarette Smoke on the Renal Morphology of WISTAR Rats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Smoking is a major public health concern worldwide. The toxic components of cigarettes, such as nicotine, can cause abuse, dependence, and tissue damage. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of exposure to cigarette smoke on the renal morphology of Wistar rats.

TGR5 expression in normal kidney and renal neoplasms

open access: yesDiagnostic Pathology, 2018
Background The G protein-coupled bile acid receptor (TGR5) is a cell surface receptor which induces the production of intracellular cAMP and promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition in gastric cancer cell lines.

Evaluation of renal masses with CEST MRI: Protocol optimization and preliminary results

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study investigates the application of CEST MRI in human kidneys, with the overarching goal of developing CEST MRI for renal mass characterization. Here, the focus is on the development of a protocol and the proof‐of‐principle evaluation of CEST for the characterization of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).

Nuclear Pedigree Criteria for the Identification of Individuals Suspected to be at Risk of an Inherited Predisposition to Renal Cancer

open access: yesHereditary Cancer in Clinical Practice, 2005
Renal clear cell carcinomas represent about 3% of all visceral cancers and account for approximately 85% of renal cancers in adults. Environmental and genetic factors are involved in the development of renal cancer.

Malignancies and immunoglobulin G4‐related disease

open access: yesRheumatology &Autoimmunity, EarlyView.
Immunoglobulin G4‐related disease (IgG4‐RD) is associated with increased cancer risk. Malignancies affect both IgG4‐RD involved organs, such as the lung, pancreas, bile duct, and prostate, and noninvolved organs, such as the gastrointestinal duct. B‐cell neoplasms constitute a proportion of the malignancies linked to this disease.

An atypical case of Hereditary Leiomyomatosis and Renal Cell Cancer (HLRCC)-associated renal cell carcinoma identified by next-generation sequencing

open access: yesHuman Pathology: Case Reports, 2018
Germline mutations in the fumarate hydratase (FH) gene classically lead to Hereditary Leiomyomatosis and Renal Cell Cancer (HLRCC) syndrome. Patients with HLRCC typically exhibit multiple cutaneous and uterine leiomyomas at a young age. They also display
