Analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates by matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry: An update for 2021–2022

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 44, Issue 3, Page 213-453, May/June 2025.
Abstract The use of matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry for the analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates is a well‐established technique and this review is the 12th update of the original article published in 1999 and brings coverage of the literature to the end of 2022.

Advancements in Diagnostics and Therapeutics for Cancer of Unknown Primary in the Era of Precision Medicine

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
In clinical practice, routine examinations for patients with CUP include taking a medical history, conducting a physical examination, and detecting serum tumor markers. In addition, IHC or MTP‐based methodologies were suggested to assist in identifying the tissue origin of CUP and guiding site‐specific therapy for CUP.

Spitz Spindle Cell/Reed Nevus With SQSTM1 :: NTRK2 Fusion and Atypical Features in an Older Male Patient: A Case Report and Review of Literature

open access: yesJournal of Cutaneous Pathology, Volume 52, Issue 5, Page 367-373, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Spitz lesions display a set of genetic alterations that differ from classical melanocytic lesions: examples include mutations in HRAS and fusions involving ALK, ROS1, MET, MAP3K8, BRAF, and the NTRK genes. We present a Spitz spindle cell/Reed nevus with atypical junctional features and an NTRK2 translocation in a patient of unusual age.

Papillary and ductal patterns of mesonephric‐like adenocarcinomas are often overlooked: a retrospective revaluation of over 1000 endometrial carcinomas

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 86, Issue 6, Page 862-877, May 2025.
Mesonephric‐like adenocarcinomas can be misclassified as other Müllerian carcinomas. Papillary (A, B), mixed papillary/ductal (C) or ductal (D) patterns can be overlooked. Aims Mesonephric‐like adenocarcinoma (MLA) of the endometrium is often a diagnostic challenge, due to its morphological resemblance to other more common Müllerian neoplasms.
