Receiver based PAPR reduction in OFDMA

2014 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2014
High peak-to-average power ratio is one of the major drawbacks of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). Clipping is the simplest peak reduction scheme, however, it requires clipping mitigation at the receiver. Recently compressed sensing has been used for clipping mitigation (by exploiting the sparse nature of clipping signal).

AGP–NCS Scheme for PAPR Reduction

Wireless Personal Communications, 2015
In this paper, a combinational method is proposed for peak-to-average power ratio reduction in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems using approximate gradient-project with null-subcarriers switching (AGP---NCS) scheme. The key idea of the proposed method is to generate a dynamically extended outer constellation points using AGP method ...

PAPR Reduction in OFDM

International Journal of Emerging Research in Management and Technology, 2018
The term OFDM is a special type of FDM which has very vast application in the field of wired and wireless communication systems. In this paper we are discussing about the main problem of OFDM i.e. Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) which affects the performance and efficiency of Power Amplifier.

Effects of PAPR reduction on HPA predistortion

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2005
There have been many papers concerning about the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction and high power amplifier (HPA) linearization techniques for wireless OFDM communication systems. Few papers, however, make deep analysis on the relation between these two techniques.

Linear Precoding for PAPR Reduction of GFDMA

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2016
Similar to the widely used orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems, generalized frequency division multiplexing suffers from a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In this letter, we propose a data-independent precoder to minimize the variance of the instantaneous power (IP), subject to the constraint of unchanged average IP as a means ...

Papr Reduction for Beamforming Ofdm Transmitters

2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006
A high peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) is a primary drawback of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). Many methods have been proposed to reduce the OFDM PAPR for single-antenna and for MIMO systems. Some systems, however, use multiple antennas for frequency-selective transmit beamforming either to a single or multiple simultaneous ...

Optimum selective mapping for PAPR reduction

2011 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS), 2011
High Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is a major drawback of multi-carrier transmission such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Various techniques have been proposed to reduce PAPR, among them SeLective Mapping (SLM) is a non-distortion method that incurs little loss in efficiency. In this paper, the criterion for optimum selective

An Adaptive Coding Technique For PAPR Reduction

IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007
In this work, we present an adaptive technique to reduce high peak-to-average power ratio in coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. High peak-to-average power ratio has been a primary hurdle for the use of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing in low cost applications.

PAPR-based DSSS signal detection

2017 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC), 2017
A new detection algorithm for direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals using peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is proposed. The received signals are divided into several blocks. Then we calculate peak-to-average power ratio of each block and we use the average of peak-to-average power ratios as test statistics.
