New SLM scheme to reduce the PAPR of OFDM signals using a genetic algorithm

open access: yesICT Express, 2016
Selected mapping (SLM) is a popular peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction technique suitable for use in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems as it achieves good PAPR reduction performance without signal distortion.

Research on Peak‐to‐Average Power Ratio Control Method for Switched Reluctance Pulse Generator

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Addressing the different requirements for peak output power when SRPG supplies power to pulse loads and DC loads, the peak‐to‐average power ratio (PAPR) is taken as the generation performance optimisation parameter. By investigating the power characteristics of the SRPG, the influence of control parameters on the PAPR is studied.

Rigorous Performance Characterisation of AI‐Enhanced 6G Underwater Optical Wireless Networks: Link Budget Correction and Empirical Gain Validation

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This document presents a revised mathematical framework for underwater 6G networks addressing common mistakes in research that result in overly optimistic outcomes. By employing established physical models and stringent technical limitations, we create a self‐validated benchmark of 776 Mbps over a distance of 44.8 m in clear ocean water with ...

Spectrally Compatible Deceptive Jamming Waveform Design for Synthetic Aperture Radar Countermeasures

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper focuses on the design of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) deceptive jamming waveforms with spectrum‐compatible capability. By using the synthesised jamming waveform, successful deception against the hostile SAR system is demonstrated by generating false targets with high fidelity in both range and azimuth.

Modified Tone Reservation for PAPR Reduction in OFDM Systems

open access: yes, 2016
International audienceOne of the main drawbacks of orthogonal frequency division multiplex modulation is its high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) which can induce poor power efficiency at high power amplifier. Tone reservation (TR) is the most popular

An adaptive tone injection for OFDM PAPR reduction

open access: yesIEICE Electronics Express, 2011
We propose an ATI (Adaptive Tone Injection) scheme based on clipping noises for PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) reduction of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signals. The proposed scheme is composed of three steps: clipping, tone selection, and TI procedures.

Deep Learning Integration in PAPR Reduction in 5G Filter Bank Multicarrier Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) has been a major drawback of Filter bank Multicarrier (FBMC) in the 5G system. This research aims to calculate the PAPR reduction associated with the FBMC system.

Design and Optimization of Finite Alphabet Waveforms for Multiple‐Antenna Radar Covariance Matching

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This article propose a novel method for finite‐alphabet waveform generation based on constrained matrix decomposition. It also expands theoretical feasibility bounds for generating covariance matrices with binary waveforms, proves that matrices from autoregressive processes are always realizable and introduces an optimal adjustment procedure for ...
