KPP Dynamics in Predator–Prey Models: A Survey and a Mussel–Algae Case Study
ABSTRACT We discuss traveling fronts in several coupled reaction–diffusion systems that model predator–prey interactions, as well as other systems that share similar structural features. We review some cases where the traveling fronts exist and are small perturbations of fronts in certain scalar equations of Fisher–KPP or Burgers–FKPP type.

Acylindrical visual splittings and the Tits alternative for Artin groups
Abstract We give a necessary and sufficient condition on a visual splitting of an Artin group satisfying the conclusions of two well‐known conjectures to be acylindrical, and demonstrate how this can be used to provide a large class of novel examples of Artin groups that satisfy the Tits alternative.

Bitsadze-Samarskii Type Problem for the Diffusion Equation and Degenerate Hyperbolic Equation
A boundary value problem of the Bitsadze-Samarskii type is studied in the article for a fractionalorder diffusion equation and a degenerate hyperbolic equation with singular coefficients at lower terms in an unbounded domain.

Modular analogs of character formulas and minimal lifts of modular forms
Abstract If f$f$ is a mod‐3 eigenform of weight 2 and level Γ0(ℓ2)$\Gamma _0(\ell ^2)$ for a prime ℓ$\ell$ such that ℓ≡−1(mod3)$\ell \equiv -1 \pmod {3}$, and ℓ$\ell$ is a vexing prime for f$f$, we show that there is no obstruction to finding a minimal lift of f$f$, but that there is an obstruction to finding a nonminimal lift.

Free semigroups of large critical exponent
Abstract For a convergence group equipped with an expanding coarse‐cocycle, we construct finitely generated free subsemigroups, which we call Bishop−−Jonessemigroups$\textit{Bishop--Jones semigroups}$, of critical exponent arbitrarily close to but strictly less than the critical exponent of the ambient group.

Abstract We give a formula with explicit constants relating the subsurface projection dY(ν−,ν+)$d_Y(\nu ^-,\nu ^+)$ of the end invariants ν−,ν+$\nu ^-,\nu ^+$ of a hyperbolic 3‐manifold Q$Q$ diffeomorphic to S×R$S\times \mathbb {R}$ and the length of the geodesic representative in Q$Q$ of the multicurve ∂Y$\partial Y$.

An experimentally informed computational model of neurovestibular adaptation to altered gravity
Abstract Transitions to altered gravity environments result in acute sensorimotor impairment for astronauts, leading to serious mission and safety risks in the crucial first moments in a new setting. Our understanding of the time course and severity of impairment in the early stages of adaptation remains limited and confounded by unmonitored head ...

In this work, we study a boundary problem with non-local conditions, by relating values of the unknown function with various characteristics. The parabolic-hyperbolic equation with three lines of type changing is equivalently reduced to a system of ...

Abstract Blood flow restriction (BFR) has been identified as a potential countermeasure to mitigate physiological deconditioning during spaceflight. Guidelines recommend that tourniquet pressure be prescribed relative to limb occlusion pressure (LOP); however, it is unclear whether body tilting or reduced gravity analogues influence LOP.

Abstract Central artery stiffening increases the haemodynamic pulsations transmitted downstream towards target organs, including the brain. While recent evidence suggests that long duration spaceflight is associated with reduced common carotid artery (CCA) distensibility, cerebrovascular pulsatility has not been extensively characterized in astronauts.
