Parabolic Trough Receiver Thermal Testing

ASME 2007 Energy Sustainability Conference, 2007
NREL has fabricated a parabolic trough receiver thermal loss test stand to quantify parabolic receiver off-sun steadystate heat loss. At an operating temperature of 400°C, measurements on Solel UVAC2 and Schott PTR70 receivers suggest off-sun thermal losses of approximately 370 W/m receiver length.

Vacuum Cavity Parabolic Trough Collector

Volume 6B: Energy, 2014
Without frequent cleaning, dust accumulation on parabolic trough collectors can lead to significant degradation of the performance of trough collectors over time. Owing to the nature of the trough profile and the presence of the receiving tube in the middle of the trough, automatic cleaning has not been a feasible option.

Design of solar parabolic trough collector

2017 International Conference on Advances in Mechanical, Industrial, Automation and Management Systems (AMIAMS), 2017
In this paper, the design stages of a solar parabolic trough collector is presented. The design of prototype was done using Creo parametric 2.0 software. The design parameters are decided on the basis of analysis and its effects due to variations in the parameters. This design process will be useful in fabrication of solar parabolic trough collector.

Sensitivities in Fitting a Parabolic Trough Facet

ASME 2012 6th International Conference on Energy Sustainability, Parts A and B, 2012
The collector accuracy requirements for parabolic trough systems are a function of the concentrator and receiver geometry. As the current trend is to use larger trough designs the need for higher accuracy is generally more important. Concentrating solar power (CSP) companies developing and deploying collectors need to meet stringent optical performance
