Optimization of parabolic trough solar collectors
Solar Energy, 1982Abstract The results of a detailed optical analysis of parabolic trough solar collectors are summarized by a few universal graphs and curve fits. These graphs enable the designer of parabolic trough collectors to calculate the performance and optimize the design with a simple hand calculator.

Profile control on solar parabolic troughs
2014 Fotonica AEIT Italian Conference on Photonics Technologies, 2014Linear parabolic collectors usually need profilometric control since the reflector surface can be imperfectly manufactured. Optical profile assessment is generally addressed to detect small localised defects. The paper proposes two optical devices that were developed simulating profile measurements on linear parabolic mirrors.

2017 International Conference on Advances in Mechanical, Industrial, Automation and Management Systems (AMIAMS), 2017In this paper, the design stages of a solar parabolic trough collector is presented. The design of prototype was done using Creo parametric 2.0 software. The design parameters are decided on the basis of analysis and its effects due to variations in the parameters. This design process will be useful in fabrication of solar parabolic trough collector.
