Genetic Determinants of Fatty Acid Composition in Subcutaneous and Visceral Adipose Tissue

open access: yesObesity, Volume 33, Issue 12, Page 2406-2415, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Fatty acids in adipose tissue are key structural and metabolic regulators of cardiometabolic health, but the genetic architecture governing depot‐specific composition in subcutaneous (SAT) and visceral adipose tissue (VAT) is not well defined.

Operando X‐Ray Diffraction Study of MXene Electrode Structure in Supercapacitors with Alkali Metal Electrolytes

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 5, Issue 12, December 2025.
Structure of Ti‐MXene electrodes is studied using operando synchrotron XRD in supercapacitors with alkali metal chlorides and H2SO4 electrolytes. Significant changes in MXene interlayer distance are found during charge/discharge cycling in LiCl, NaCl, and KCl electrolytes.

Antimicrobial prescribing guidelines for horses in Australia

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 103, Issue 12, Page 781-889, December 2025.
The growing problem of antimicrobial resistance also affects equine veterinarians with increasing frequency. Antimicrobial stewardship and responsible prescribing are essential for a future in which effective antimicrobials are available, as it is unlikely that new antimicrobials will become available for use in horses.

Development and Validation of Multiple Machine Learning Models Integrating Neutrophil‐Lymphocyte Ratio for Prediction of Hemorrhagic Transformation After Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 12, December 2025.
Machine learning models integrating the inflammatory biomarker neutrophil‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) with clinical/imaging biomarkers (NIHSS, ASPECTS) accurately predicted hemorrhagic transformation post‐thrombolysis. The optimal logistic regression‐based nomogram and SHAP analysis prioritized stroke severity and NLR for enhanced clinical utility. ABSTRACT

The Promise of Exosomes in Cardiac Repair: When ‘Best Things Come in Small Packages’

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 29, Issue 23, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Myocardial ischaemia continues to be a predominant global cause of mortality, leaving survivors with compromised quality of life and significant loss of functional cardiomyocytes. The main therapeutic approach, which attempts to restore heart function, generally involves myocardial reperfusion.
